About Amethyst

A place to slow down, soften, and simply be.
Amethyst Massage Therapy was created from a simple belief: we all need a place where we can put things down for a while.
The stress. The responsibilities. The mental lists. The constant doing and caring for everyone else.
For more than a decade, I’ve had the privilege of creating that kind of space for my clients. Through seasons of stress, grief, change, healing, celebration, motherhood, and everything life brings with it, massage has always been about more to me than working with muscles.
It’s about caring for the whole person.
It’s about creating an environment where you feel safe enough to soften, comfortable enough to exhale, and free to let your body settle into stillness.
In many ways, that intention has always been reflected in the name Amethyst itself—a stone associated with protection, peace, and calm. Those are the same qualities I hope you feel when you're here: a sense of ease, of being supported, and of knowing that for this hour, nothing is being asked of you.

A New Chapter, Closer to Home
After years of growing and evolving, Amethyst has found a new home—quite literally.
My private, home-based massage studio was thoughtfully created to offer the same professional, personalized care my clients have come to know, within an environment that feels quieter, warmer, and a little more personal.
And while home describes where my studio is located, it also represents something much bigger to me.
I want Amethyst to feel like the moment you walk through the door and realize there is nowhere else you need to be. The moment your shoulders begin to drop. Your breathing slows. Your nervous system gets the message that, for a little while, it can stop being on alert.
A place where you can come home to yourself.
The Heart Behind Amethyst
When I first created Amethyst Massage Therapy, it began with a simple idea and the hope that I could build a career doing work that felt meaningful.
I'm Beth, the massage therapist behind Amethyst, and what started as a career has become something much more personal.
I've been a licensed massage therapist in South Dakota since 2015, and throughout my career I've continued to expand the way I'm able to support my clients. My training includes Swedish and deep tissue massage, cupping therapy, sports massage, Thai massage, prenatal massage, fertility massage, and advanced education in deep relaxation techniques, ethics, and trauma-informed massage therapy. I've also been a certified Usui Reiki Master since 2020.
But more than collecting techniques or certifications, continuing my education has given me a larger tool belt to draw from. No two people—or even two appointments with the same person—need exactly the same thing. I bring together the techniques, experience, and intuition that best fit the person in front of me, so each session can be shaped around what you need that day.
Some areas of my work have become especially close to my heart, including fertility massage. My own life experiences have deepened the way I approach this work and given me an even greater appreciation for the importance of meeting people with compassion through the many seasons life can bring.
Becoming a mother has only deepened that perspective.
I know how easy it is to spend our days caring, carrying, planning, thinking, and moving from one responsibility to the next. Creating this home-based studio has allowed me to build a practice that honors both the work I love and the family I love, while continuing to create something meaningful for the people who trust me with their care.
Massage that meets you where you are.
There is no expectation that you arrive relaxed.
You don't have to clear your mind before your massage. You don't have to apologize for being stressed, tired, overwhelmed, emotional, or desperately in need of an hour where no one needs anything from you.
You just have to arrive.
Each session is personalized around what your body needs that day—whether you're looking for focused therapeutic work, deep relaxation, nervous system support, or simply a quiet place to rest.
My goal isn't to rush you through an appointment. It's to give you the time, attention, and individualized care you need that day.
Because sometimes self-care isn't about adding one more thing to your list.
Sometimes it's about finally putting the list down.
More than anything, I hope Amethyst is a place where you feel comfortable being exactly who you are.
Take a breath.
Settle in.
You're home here.
